Cristina- thank you for your words! I feel this so deeply. My first is moving halfway across the country to start her adulting and my baby just left for their first year at college. You’re so right on all levels. It’s THE feeling that right now feels so heavy, like it will never go away. And all my noting, recording, cherishing, pre-sad moments this past year and summer didn’t help me prepare. It reminds me of the Grinch, where Christmas came just the same. Only it’s sad. You are definitely not alone! I didn't write about it here, but when I dropped Gwendolyn off at Stanford (only down the street!) I got such a wallop of the feeling that I deposited myself unannounced on the doorstep my best friends house. When she opened the door, I was like, this is so much worse than I thought it would be!
